Discussion Question about the movie Roots Volume I

Toward the end of Volume I of Roots, the slaves decide to come together to fight for their freedom. What are some of the stumbling blocks they will be facing?

    Some of the slaves will face stumbling blocks such as getting killed, sickness, and fighting very hard.

    They will have to face being killed, as well as planning out a plan on how to escape.

    There are many books you can read about slavery. If I haven't already given you one or two of these book titles, it's okay to look them up and check them out. These titles should all be within your reading range: To Be a Slave by Julius Lester; Across the Lines by Carolyn Reeder; Amistad by Alexs Pate; The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman by Ernest J. Gaines

    Some of the things that i think they will have to watch over, are the white people and a couple of blacks. They also are going to watch for traps.
